Hello and welcome back to our second ever Teaser Tuesday! Teaser Tuesday is hosted by MizB of Should be Reading. You know the rest of the drill! This week, there are four books--just like last week!

Current Read One:
Museum of Thieves, by Lian Tanner
Teaser is taken from pages 124-125
"Was she brave? She didn't think so. Could she bear to stay in such a dangerous place?

Eragon, by Christopher Paolini
Teaser is taken from pages 172-173
"Brom thought about it. 'We won't be able to deceive Jeod. He already knows my name, and I think I trust him with yours. But to everyone else, I will be Neal and you will be my nephew Evan. If our tongues slip and give us away, it probably won't make a difference, but I don't want our names in anyone's heads. People have an annoying habit of remembering things they shouldn't.'"

Brom, you make us all laugh. Read to find out about Brom and Eragon's (the titular character) adventures under the names of Neal and Evan...

Current Read Three:
Bones of Faerie, by Janni Lee Simmer
Teaser is taken from pages 28-29
"Didn't he know better than to gather firewood alone at night? Didn't he know better than to risk his life for a magic-cursed girl?"

Well... interesting. That teaser would make way more sense if you read a summary or synopsis of the book, however.



Current Read Four:
The Ruby Key, by Holly Lisle
Teaser is taken from pages 220-221
"Danrith's expression changed, though. The ghost disappeared, and Danrith whined, 'I was sleeping, Genna. Why did you wake me?'
'Hush. Keep your voice down or we may be eaten.'"

Well, um, that was a rather blunt teaser. What would eat them? Read and find out!

Teaser Tuesday (1)

Happy Teaser Tuesday everyone! This is book reviewer Suzanne~

Teaser Tuesday is hosted by MizB of Should be Reading. It's where you take a current read (or reads, in my case), let the the book fall open to a random page and take a teaser from that spread of pages. Some of my teasers are long; others are short. The suggested teaser length is two to three lines, but...

The first current read (I'm re-reading them all, since they're all VERY good books):
City of Bones, by Cassandra Clare
Teaser is taken from pages 168-169
"Slowly the library came back into focus--the book-lined walls, the anxious faces of Hodge and Jace. Brother Jeremiah stood unmoving, a carved idol of ivory and red ink. Clary became aware of the sharp pains in her hands, and glanced down to see red lines scored across her skin where her nails had dug in."

Ooh, what happens next? What happened? That's for me to know and you to find out!

The second current read:
Fell, by David Clement-Davies
NOTE: This is the SECOND book in a series; read The Sight first!
Teaser is taken from pages 206-207
"'So one day, when we had argued, Jalgan singled my brother out before the whole Vengerid. He called him Sikla and traitor and took out his throat.'"

Wow. That was stated by wolf Fell, the titular character of this book.

The third current read:
Darkwing, by Kenneth Oppel
NOTE: This is a prequel to the Silverwing trilogy; I recommend reading them first!
Teaser is taken from pages 28-29
"'You know, little brother,' Sylph commented, 'you look particularly odd from this angle.'
'You know, big sister,' said Dusk, glancing down at her, 'from this angle it would be particularly unfortunate if I had to pee.'"

Wow; child prehistoric bats act like children. This line always makes me laugh, no matter how many times I read it.

The fourth and final current read:
The Search for WondLa, by Tony DiTerlizzi
Teaser is taken from pages 30-31
"The robot had put an arm around her, 'Well, Eva, there are trees. But they cannot grow here, where we live. They grow... above us.'
'Can we go and see them?' Eva had been excited at the idea of exploring a big forest towering right above them. 'We could play hide-and-seek and have a picnic.'
'All in due time,' Muthr had replied, setting a bowl of oatmeal-flavored mush in front of her. All in due time....
