They say that the cure for love will make me happy and safe forever. And I’ve always believed them.

Until now.

Now everything has changed. Now, I’d rather be infected with love for the tiniest sliver of a second than live a hundred years smothered by a lie.

My Thoughts

Why hadn't I gotten this book sooner?

You see, when I see a highly recommended or popular book, I automatically think the book will be terrible. Once again, I was wrong. Terribly, terribly, utterly, undeniably wrong.

I loved the emotions of the characters. Lena had gotten on my nerves. I get why she has the attitude and outlook on love, but she can just be so annoying. I like her though. She's a very realistic and believable character. Sometimes, I act like her. Not willing to accept something different. Lena's friend, Hana, is probably one of the best you can get. I liked her attitude. It's nice to have a best friend like that. Alex is a dream. He is absolutely cute and wonderful. He would go that far to protect Lena.

The ending just broke my heart. I'm so relieved that this is a series. If this was a standalone book, I think I just might cry. You could probably tell but I absolutely adored this book. Delirium is another book that I couldn't put down. I'm infected with amor deliria nervosa for this book. It was maybe a bit predictable though. If I had to pick a song for the this book, ironically, it would be Love by David Choi (and maybe a bit of Katy Perry's Firework).

  1. After reading your awesome review, I think I am going to wait until I get the physical book instead of listening to the audiobook. I don't want to miss out on the experience.

  2. Some books don't live up to their hype but I really liked this one as well.

I also posted a review of this (if you are interested).

  3. Delirium has a large romance plot which isn’t unusual for any other YA novel. But as the story around Lena and Alex is set in a dystopian world where America is shut down and love is considered as a disease, their romance isn’t just unusual but dangerous, too.
