But after Clea’s father disappears while on a humanitarian mission, Clea’s photos begin to feature eerie, shadowy images of a strange and beautiful man—a man she has never seen before.

When fate brings Clea and this man together, she is stunned by the immediate and powerful connection she feels with him. As they grow closer, they are drawn deep into the mystery behind her father’s disappearance, and they discover the centuries old truth behind their intense bond. Torn by a dangerous love triangle and haunted by a powerful secret that holds their fates, together they race against time to unravel their pasts in order to save their lives—and their futures.

My Thoughts

I have to agree that this reminded me a lot of Evermore by Alyson Noel, except that Evermore, in my opinion, is better than Elixir. But I'm not here to review Evermore again so let's get on with this and start the review.

Elixir is better than what I thought it would be. It starts off with a strong beginning that pulled me in, along with some exciting scenes. The characters were not that bad, but they did not impact me in any way.

Now let's talk about what I hated. Well, there were way too many ellipses in the story, along with grammatical errors. The story is so disorganized because there were so many ideas shifting about. There was no focus. Despite this, it was predictable. I didn't care much for the goals of the characters at all.

Oh, and the instant love that Clea had. Her thoughts of him shift from Sage being a stalker/killer to being her soulmate after the span of only a few days. How did that happen?

  1. Hmm doesn't sound like one I'm going to enjoy. Sounds a little bit scary too which isn't usually my cup of tea. I do love the cover though.

  2. @Lan It's mostly sad rather than scary. I mostly read this because I absolutely loved the cover -.-; I'll probably never do that again... for a while.
